The Aylesbury-based provider has been selected for its e-learning training programme for client, The Big Lottery Fund (BLF), responsible for distributing around £650m of National Lottery funding annually. The aim of the AdVal programme is to provide technical and procedural knowledge to BLF grants officers, responsible for assessing planning applications for local community property grant applications. Since its launch, performance indicators for individuals who have completed the programme have showed positive signs of improvement, said BLF's Head of Learning & Development, Leonie Lupton. "The AdVal programme has helped ensure that a consistent and more effective approach to training delivery is taken by us," she said. "In addition to time saved by removing the need to attend face-to-face training events, the Fund estimates a saving achieved in travel and subsistence cost alone at £200 per learner, equating with a saving of £40,000 across the initial target audience." AdVal director Peter Bonfield cited BLF as an excellent example of a public sector organisation employing best practice. "We are delighted that this has been recognised by WOLCE," he said. "The Fund did not simply look to reproduce existing training delivery methods but realised that if implemented correctly, e-learning could introduce real efficiencies and improvements in individual and business performance."
