World of Learning award winners 2004

The BBC’s leadership programme and a tailor-made solution for British Gas Service Engineers were among the winners at the 2004 World of Learning Awards.

The awards ceremony took place at the NEC, Birmingham during last week’s World of Learning Conference and Exhibition. The Awards were presented by comedian and writer Sean Lock.

"This year saw a record number of entries across all categories and the standard of all submissions far surpassed previous years," said Alison Church, Awards Manager at World of Learning 2004. "The fact that the judging panel had an exceptionally difficult task this year and awarded special commendations and runners up in a number of categories is testimony to the continuing innovation and advancement in the training industry."

The World of Learning 2004 award winners are:

Bespoke Solution of the Year

Runner Up: National College for School Leadership

Generic Solution of the Year

Online Solution of the Year

Winner: Cimex Media / E-Skills UK – Computer Clubs for Girls (CC4G)
Runner Up: Cylix & Ufi – Keyboard Tutor

Instructor-Led Solution of the Year

Winner: The Negotiation Academy Europe Pty – Advanced Negotiation Training

Training Venue of the Year

Winner: The Robinson Centre
Runner Up: The Møller Centre
Special Commendation: High Trenhouse

Outstanding Contribution to the Training Industry

Winner: Clive Shepherd

Learning Resource Centre Manager of the Year

Winner: Jo Richler – Wigan & Leigh College
