The winners were selected from more than 1,500 nominations made by learners, colleagues, managers and the public from all over the country. Individual winners were presented with the prize of £2,000, a trophy and a certificate, and the winning team walked away with £5,000, as well as their trophy and certificate. Their employers also received a framed certificate recognising that they employ a STAR Award winner. All winners come from workplaces such as further education colleges, community-based providers, private sector providers and employers, adult education institutions and UK online centres. Categories this year included the newly introduced Team Award, Volunteer and Subject Learning Coach awards.
