SkillsActive's chief executive Stephen Studd presented the awards, the first under the new scheme, at the SkillsActive annual Funders' and Patrons' dinner. Speaking after the event, Studd said: "We are delighted to introduce the SkillsActive Achievement in Training award. The award has been initiated to recognise and reward those organisations in the sector that have demonstrated excellence in the development and training of their staff. "We have been keen to launch the new award for some time now, and saw the annual dinner as the opportunity to recognise and praise two exceptional organisations.
