Bourne Training and Ufi achieve nomination double

Bourne Training, together with the University for Industry (Ufi), has been short-listed as a finalist in two categories at this year's World of Learning Awards.

The nominations, for 'Bespoke Solution of the Year' and 'On-line Solution of the Year', relate to the Ufi (learndirect) 'IT for Life' Programme. The courses are designed to help learners to gain IT skills and to achieve the IT Skills Council's Information Technology Qualification (ITQ).

The courses include interactive demonstrations, reinforcement exercises, summative assessment and the opportunity for learners to consolidate their knowledge through activities in the live application. learndirect tutors are involved at key stages to review the course outputs and facilitate discussions on the learner's progress.

Mike Ditchburn, managing director of Bourne Training, said: "We are delighted that the foresight of Ufi and our work with them has been recognised through the World of Learning Awards.

"For us both to be short-listed in two categories is a fitting tribute to our team and testament to the strong working relationship we have developed with Ufi."

Now in their sixth year, the World of Learning Awards seek to recognise and reward organisations and people who have significantly advanced workplace productivity and performance within the industry. The awards will be presented at a gala dinner on 14 November 2006 at the NEC, Birmingham - the first night of the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition.
