Uniting the BCS IT Professional awards and IM awards, the newly named IT Industry awards set out to recognise professionalism, achievement and innovation in key sectors of the industry. Winners will be announced at a presentation ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, in December, forming the culmination of a year of celebration for the BCS' 50th anniversary. David Clarke, BCS chief executive, said: "This is a very exciting year for us and as such we have taken the opportunity to refresh the awards, joining with NCC and Intellect and introducing new categories which reflect some of the most important issues for IT in the present and future. "Our awards are a great showcase for professionalism in IT, highlighting the importance of technology within today's business environment where IT plays an integral role from the board room to customer communications."
