Home > News > May 2007 > 22 May 2007 Nominations open for 2007 STAR AwardsNominations for the 2007 Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) STAR Awards are now open. The awards seek to recognise and promote excellence in the further education system. Since the inception of the STAR Awards by the Department for Education and Skills in 2002 more than 7,000 people have received awards in recognition of their contribution to the sector. The QIA says anyone can nominate a STAR. To be eligible nominees must work in the further education system, in an organisation or an institution which is at least partly funded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). Nominations for the STAR Awards can come from any business or workplace in England. There are 10 prize categories in 2007:
Winners will receive a cash prize, trophy, certificate and opportunities for personal and professional development. The winners will be presented at an awards ceremony to be held in London later this year. Nominations can be made online at http://staraward.qia.org.uk.
