Home > News > June 2004 > 10-Jun-2004 WWP wins Parliamentary learning and development projectThe House of Commons has appointed WWP as provider of learning and development programmes for all 659 Members and their staff. There were 97 original expressions of interest to tender via the European tendering process from which WWP was chosen as preferred provider. The House of Commons, Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) develops and manages Parliamentary Learning and Development for Members and their staff. According to Archie Cameron, Director of Operations for the DFA, WWP won the contract because "they impressed us with their professionalism and their willingness to work with all concerned to provide a programme of high quality training." After working with House of Commons managers and stakeholders to define needs, a range of programmes were developed in partnership with the Industry & Parliamentary Trust (IPT) including:
WWP has been taking courses out to the constituencies throughout the UK in addition to those delivered at their Central London and Windsor centres. Programmes are evaluated via immediate feedback after training or development activity, a three month evaluation process relevant to skills-based activities to determine improvement in performance, and, for Members staff, through stakeholder feedback from Members.
