The survey revealed that 63% of bosses admitted they knew 'very little' about modern marketing techniques. Jonny Cainer of Marketing Professionals UK said this lack of knowledge makes it difficult for companies to get the right person for highly sought after marketing jobs. "Businesses are wasting a lot of money, time and effort on searching for marketers without fully understanding what their job role will be. The use of confusing jargon in the marketing industry compounds the problem as well as the vast array of job titles. "Employers must create the right job specification and use a thorough recruitment process to find those with real talent and future potential. It is important that those recruiting have experience of the marketing industry to avoid costly mistakes," added Cainer.
