As part of ACCA's new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme, 'ACCA Realise', over 100 of Thomson NETg's courses in professional development and IT skills are now available to ACCA's members worldwide. The courses have been fully endorsed by ACCA and will be accessible via the ACCA website. Phased in from January 2005, the CPD programme will be a requirement for all 100,000 ACCA members, working in every industry and position, throughout their careers. "Consultation with over 10,000 ACCA members and employers around the world found e-Learning to be a popular method of training, as it provides our members with the flexibility to learn-on-demand and fit personal development around their busy work schedules," commented Stephen Heathcote, Head of Training and Development at ACCA. "Working with global providers of online courses, including Thomson NETg, will give our members the opportunity to carry out cost-effective, self-paced and highly interactive learning to help them meet their CPD needs." Thomson NETg has created a website specifically for ACCA and has tailored it to match the look and feel of ACCA's own website. To access this site, members will simply click on a link on the ACCA website. Courses available to ACCA members from the Thomson NETg Integrated Learning Solution will include professional skills such as Project Scheduling and Budgeting, Effective Communication, Leading through Change and Problem Solving. Members can also access Microsoft PC skills such as XP User Fundamentals, PowerPoint 2003 Proficient User, and Outlook 2003 Proficient User. "The Thomson NETg online courses will be an excellent addition to our CPD programme and we expect them to be very popular," continued Heathcote. "The impressive breadth and depth of the courses allows us to offer our members a far greater course range than would be possible via face-to-face instruction. This along with the high quality, interactive and engaging learning content and the company's strong and established reputation was behind our decision to work with Thomson NETg."
