Roffey Park seeks the views of Britain’s managers

Roffey Park is seeking the views of Britain’s managers for its annual survey of organisational life and the challenges that managers are facing.

Now in its eighth year, Roffey Park’s Management Agenda provides an overview of the key issues relating to the work and well-being of managers, such as organisational priorities, career management, personal development and work relationships.

Last year’s survey found that levels of stress, workloads, conflict and harassment in the office were rising but managers were unshakeably positive and optimistic. It found that 90% of organisations experienced change, predominantly as a result of restructuring. Despite this, the majority of managers felt secure in their jobs and a growing number admitted to feeling optimistic about the future.

Now the authors, Linda Holbeche and Claire McCartney, are asking for managers to take part in this year’s survey by completing a confidential questionnaire. The aim is to investigate some of the key issues facing organisations, including issues around change and culture, organisational life, the ‘employee deal’ and working across boundaries.

"We’re seeking the views of a broad demographic base of managers working in small, medium and large organisations in all sectors," said Linda Holbeche, Director of Research and Strategy at Roffey Park.
"With this information, we can highlight the key issues facing managers and organisations today."

The next Management Agenda research report will be published in January 2005. Those who take part in the online survey will receive a summary of the findings.
