Microsoft launches educational resource for small businesses

Microsoft has launched the Better Business Toolkit, an educational website and CD that gives small businesses advice on how to be more successful.

Designed as a course that can be undertaken at the users own pace, the Better Business Toolkit comprises a series of exercises, action plans and templates, tackling a wide range of issues such as how to get started, identifying opportunities and how to strengthen the company as well as effective marketing, doing business online and creating exceptional customer service.

"The launch of this tool means that Microsoft can offer support to small business owners from the initial start-up phase through to dealing with the more complex challenges that a firm faces as it matures,” said John Coulthard, Microsoft's head of small business in the UK. “The Better Business Toolkit is part of our commitment to encouraging the continued success of British entrepreneurs.

"Small business managers may not have the time or budget to attend courses. The ability to learn as you grow using a resource like the Better Business Toolkit is invaluable. Even if your business doesn't have Internet access, every small business manager with a computer can benefit from this toolkit."
