New Information Security Management Systems courses from SGS

SGS has launched its new Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) Foundation and Auditor/Lead Auditor training courses.

"We’ve introduced these courses in response to worldwide customer demand, particularly from our customers in Asia," said course tutor Peter Crack. "This demand has come from organisations that need to demonstrate the security of their systems and the important information they contain.

"We held our first course in Singapore at the end of January 2005, which was highly successful, and we’re holding further courses in India, Taiwan, Japan, Portugal, the UK and other locations."

SGS’ new ISMS Foundation Course comprises a day of lectures and workshops and is designed to be an introduction for people involved in the development, implementation, management, review and continual improvement of ISMS based on BS 7799.

SGS’ new ISMS Auditor/Lead Auditor Course is certificated by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA). Held over five days, it comprises lectures, workshops, continuous assessment and a written examination.

"This challenging and intensive course prepares delegates for the exacting task of auditing information security systems," said Crack.

The course aims to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills needed to perform ISMS audits against national and international specifications, standards, statutory requirements and regulations using the principles of ISO 19011.
