St. John says that the courses teach the skills to handle any First Aid situation, from minor slips and trips to the most serious of incidents. Each course aims to offer a flexible way of learning, using interactive and practical sessions. Moving away from textbook based courses, they feature interactive cards and scenario settings and also aim to address the needs of employees for whom English is a second language. Jon Cunningham, Head of Training at St. John Ambulance, said: "We invest a great deal of time talking to our customers, from large blue chip companies to small and medium sized companies, and we are firmly committed to addressing their changing First Aid training needs. These courses achieve this objective." St. John Ambulance trains over half a million people each year and say that more students pass First Aid at Work with the organisation than any with other provider. At the Safety & Health Expo 2005, St. John Ambulance will be exhibiting on stand F60 and will offer delegates the opportunity to sample the new training materials, and the chance to take part in on-stand competitions.
