Home > News > April 2005 > 28-Apr-2005 ICAEW announces new Education and Training Executive DirectorDr Raymond Madden has been announced as the new Executive Director of Education & Training at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). Dr Madden joins from ABN AMRO Bank where he was Senior Vice President, Head of Learning, and will take up his role on 6th June 2005. Commenting on his new appointment, Dr Madden said: “I look forward to working with the Education & Training Directorate to broaden the scope and appeal of the ACA internationally and to enhance the continuing professional development portfolio for the institute’s membership.” Paul Druckman, President of the ICAEW, said: "With his excellent international reputation and commercial experience Dr Madden will be a real asset to the institute’s broad membership. I am confident that he will help develop further the national and international profile of the ICAEW’s qualifications." Eric Anstee, Chief Executive of the ICAEW, added: "We intend to re-evaluate the delivery of our training for ACA at home and internationally, as well as expand training inside business. Dr Madden’s combination of work in the business training arena combines well with his experience with leading business schools to spearhead this work." Dr Madden takes over from Professor Brian Chiplin who retired in November 2004.
