The training programme, which includes case studies and in-house examples, has developed and been taught over the past 18 months. "This programme is integral to the future direction and policy of the Health and Safety Executive." said Shelagh Molloy from HSE "Our strategy required us to become a more effective communicator and influencer. A new emphasis on planning communications and a media neutral approach was what we were looking for. The Chartered Institute of Marketing's programme fitted our agenda well." Christine Cryne, chief executive of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, said: "The partnership between HSE and the Institute on training challenges some of the existing practises in the industry and will make a useful contribution to HSE in reaching their targets to improve the health and safety practices of the nation."
