The project, to develop an online solution to meet the challenge of individual candidate testing, has made the short-list for the "Internal e-learning Project of the Year" award. Using Aspen by Click2learn, IMI says its solution offers both competence testing and learning opportunities to their NVQ and SVQ approved Assessment Centres. The IMI says the approach enables the training organisations and Further Education Colleges who offer IMI Motor Vehicle Industry qualifications to gather "underpinning knowledge" through Aspen's online platform. "We are very excited to have been nominated for this award", said Alan Mackrill, Director of Learning and Skills at IMI. "By offering our network of assessment centres an on-line solution to candidate testing we have grown our business by around 30%. This project has changed the way we do business in so many positive respects. It is great to receive this nomination in recognition of the pioneering work we have been doing to improve skills in the retail motor industry." The "Internal e-learning Project of the Year" award is presented to an internal training department for an in-house e-Learning project that is innovative in concept and has produced demonstrable performance improvement for the business. Award finalists and winners will be recognised at the IITT's Awards Dinner at the Dorchester Hotel in London on 5th February 2004.
