Epic researches accessibility for CIPD

Epic Group plc has won the contract to undertake a research project on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) into how e-learning can impact learners with disabilities.

The project will have a specific emphasis on learners with cognitive disabilities, including language and learning disabilities, for adults who would typically access e-learning in the course of employment (and potentially those entering the workforce).

Jessica Rolph, CIPD project manager comments, "The CIPD want to investigate how this new technology will impact on disabled learners and what implications arise out of this in terms of policy and practice. We are looking forward to working with Epic to produce a piece of research that provides a realistic view of the opportunities e-learning can open up to improve access to learning and training for people with disabilities".

On behalf of Epic, Dr Matthew Fox, Director of Learning Solutions, said: "We applaud the CIPD's focus on this critical issue, a focus we share both in our e-learning accessibility research and implementation work, and we are pleased to be able to contribute to research that will undoubtedly contribute greatly towards a better understanding of the subject".
