In making the announcement Adrian Snook, Director of Corporate Development at The Training Foundation said: "Whilst we have not been pro-actively marketing the CeLP programme in North America, we have received a significant number of enrolments from students over the course of the last three years. This is primarily because multinational corporations have enrolled delegates in the UK and Europe and these have in turn recommended us to their colleagues located in the US and Canada. KAB Consultancy and Training has already assisted us in providing these students with very effective e-Tutoring and other support services in the local time zone. "Seven months ago the European Institute for e-Learning (EIfEL) announced their endorsement of the Certified e-Learning Professional programme, leading to wider adoption of the initiative across Europe. Given the increasing number of enquiries we are now receiving from North America the time has come to begin the next phase of our international expansion program. We are therefore delighted to be able to announce the appointment of KAB Consultancy and Training as our official Canadian partner." Kath Roberts (above) of KAB Consultancy and Training commented: "There are three major factors driving the rapid take-up of e-Learning in Canada. Firstly we are a big country, the second largest in the world spanning 5 time zones. Secondly, there aren't many Canadians, 31 million at last count. And last but not least, we have strong education and information technology sectors. A wide range of Canadian organisations are now recognising the need to put e-Learning in the hands of learning professionals and to up-skill their training teams and subject matter experts with the necessary specialist skills. "The CeLP® programme consists of some 300 learner hours of tutor-supported e-Learning and consists of twelve certificated courses aimed at the five key roles within the e-Learning field; tutor, trainer, developer, manager and consultant. By successfully completing further elective courses delegates may upgrade their certification to the CeLP Diploma in e-Learning. "On the basis of our experience of working with The Training Foundation over the last few years we are anticipating a strong take-up amongst Canadian students within major organisations seeking to safeguard their future investments in e-learning." CeLP comprises some 300 learner hours of tutor-supported e-Learning and leads to five certified tracks; tutor, trainer, developer, manager and consultant.
