This latest version of Lectora called "Lectora International Publishing Suite" supports the Unicode Standard, the international coding system designed for the global interchange of computer-based text. Unicode supports more than 200 languages including all major languages, most minor languages, and some ancient languages. "The demand for an international edition of Lectora has been strong," said Tim Loudermilk, Trivantis founder and CEO, "Lectora International Publishing Suite makes it possible for practically anyone to create and publish content in any language anywhere in the world. The possibilities for how or where this edition of Lectora is used are truly unlimited." Demand for the new International version has been immediate; BdM Development has already supplied product both to new customers and those upgrading from previous versions of Lectora. Sales & Marketing Director at BdM Development, Alistair Bovill commented "Particulalry where we have clients with subsidiaries or parent companies in the Far East, the savings in development time can be dramatic. Instead of having to display double-byte characters as a collection of bitmap images, they can simply be typed in."
