Sussex Enterprise choose e-learning for induction programme

Business support organisation Sussex Enterprise has used BrightWave to develop an e-learning induction programme for new employees. Sussex Enterprise is a fully accredited Chamber of Commerce and delivers a wide range of business services under the Business Link brand.

"We chose to work with BrightWave because we were impressed with their professional approach and had seen examples of their work for other companies which mirrored what we wanted to achieve," said Katie Timmons, HR Officer at Sussex Enterprise.

"New employees tend to start on a very irregular basis and we needed an effective way of introducing them to us, either just before they join or within their first days with us. At the same time we want something that can give joiners an understanding of how we help local businesses. We are confident that e-learning is the best solution for what we want to achieve."

The one-hour e-learning course will be used to familiarise all new employees with the company, and can also be used as a pre-induction to give joiners an overview of Sussex Enterprise before starting work. The project was part funded by the Small Business Service.

"E-learning is a great tool for induction," said Charles Gould, BrightWave’s Managing Director. "It helps companies of all sizes to get their new recruits up to speed and be productive quickly and as the same material can be used over and over again it is very cost effective and consistent."
