Free e-learning package aims to help businesses with working parents' rights

Acas has launched a free e-learning package designed to help employers deal with working parents' rights in the workplace.

Acas' newest e-learning package aims to help employers get it right by providing a free step by step guide. The course covers topics such as:

  • maternity rights and pay
  • paternity leave and pay
  • adoption leave and pay
  • parental leave
  • time off to help dependants
  • the right to request flexible working

Rita Donaghy, Acas Chair, said: "The course is ideal for those employers who have not had to deal with a working parents' issue before. If you have taken the time to recruit the best person for the job it makes good business sense to ensure they keep on working for you even if their circumstances change.

"Acas has over 30 years' experience of dealing with employment relations problems and the new online course provides brief, straightforward advice that helps prevent problems and deal with those that do arise."
