The IFC says the Home Office has given its backing to the initiative, www.idfraudpreventiontraining.com, which aims to help UK businesses equip staff in fraud sensitive organisations, including those in banking, motor finance and telecoms, with the skills necessary to identify and counter increasingly sophisticated ID fraud criminals. The consortium, whose members are APACS, the British Bankers Association (BBA) and CIFAS, believe e-learning will provide the dynamism and flexibility necessary to fight ID fraud. According to the IFC, the online training portal, which was launched earlier this year, will demonstrate best practice on fraud prevention and how to conduct effective checks on new customers. The IFC says the site will be updated regularly with information on counterfeiting, stolen identity documents, forged documents and regulatory developments. After a tendering exercise, the IFC selected Absolutely Training on the back of past joint e-learning ventures with organisations that include the BBA and the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML).
