AdVal Learning Solutions has developed three programmes for the Association with a fourth in development. The courses use audio and slide shows, and are available online or via a CD-ROM. The course concludes with a short quiz and learners can print out a certificate showing their name, score and date to add to their portfolio for validation. Robert Halkyard, head of training at the Scout Association said: "We have worked through a major change of mind-set in order to accommodate this new way of learning. Response has been very positive - users appreciate the quality of the e-learning, value being able to access it faster, and can train in their own time and at their own pace."
