Over 100 employees tried the e-learning courses provided by online course publisher Jenison. Valerie Maddock, head of IT learning and user support who organised the event at the Salvation Army, said their involvement in National Learning at Work Day 2006 surpassed their expectations. She said: "It provided an interesting opportunity for both staff and managers. All those who got involved really entered into the spirit of Learning at Work Day, making learning fun and effective. "It was a great opportunity to boost staff morale, show our commitment to their development needs and promote our extensive online training opportunities. Just trying one course has helped staff to see the potential for learning in this way and recognise what online learning can do for them in the workplace." Salvation Army staff were given access to Jenison's Impetus Plus suite of IT courses and Jenison's Management Milestones collection.
