Saleem Akram, CIOB director, said: "Academic qualifications are obviously important but they still only say something about what you achieved at some point in the past; whereas a professional qualification must always say something about you now. This is why CPD is a requirement of many professional bodies and why we value it so highly. "We recognise that our members want access to quality up-to-date learning resources wherever they are in the world and in an easy and flexible format. This new service will also allow users to record all their CPD activity online, and us as a professional body to monitor the success of their online CPD provision, providing a valuable addition to existing training resources." Martin Avison, Orkell commercial director, said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with the CIOB and to be providing e-learning courses in one of the world's largest and most diverse industries. "Orkell work in partnership with a wide range of professional bodies to develop and deliver bespoke online CPD courses. However, it became apparent that what we delivered had a much wider appeal and as a result, Orkell developed the CPD Alliance - a centralised resource for approved online courses across industry sectors."
