CIOB set for online CPD

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is set to develop a suite of web-based Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes for CIOB Members and industry professionals, in partnership with the CPD Alliance, an online learning initiative founded by Orkell.

Saleem Akram, CIOB director, said: "Academic qualifications are obviously important but they still only say something about what you achieved at some point in the past; whereas a professional qualification must always say something about you now. This is why CPD is a requirement of many professional bodies and why we value it so highly.

"We recognise that our members want access to quality up-to-date learning resources wherever they are in the world and in an easy and flexible format. This new service will also allow users to record all their CPD activity online, and us as a professional body to monitor the success of their online CPD provision, providing a valuable addition to existing training resources."
