BLA event in Scotland aims to help delegates develop the learning infrastructure

The British Learning Association's seventh annual event in Scotland is taking place at Edinburgh's Telford College on Thursday 28th October 2004.

Under the working title 'The Learning Infrastructure', the event aims to update delegates on approaches to developing a learning infrastructure. Contributors include:

  • Andy Wooler, Manager, Learning Management Systems - Royal & Sun Alliance
  • Julie Preston, Training Operations Manager - Leadership Development
  • Terry Bateson, Leadership Development Consultant - The Scottish Prison Service
  • Liz Gunn, Learning Resources Manager - Edinburgh's Telford College
  • Alex Borthwick, CPD Adviser - CIPD South East Scotland Branch and the Borders
  • Fiona Leteney, Managing Director - FeeNix eLearning.

Using seminars and case studies, the event sets out to: highlight why we need a learning infrastructure and what its necessary components are; demonstrate the reality behind online approaches and new and innovative supports for the learning environment; overview the pros and cons of various types of learning resources demonstrating how the right mix can be matched to different learning styles and context; and review the role of CPD for all those involved in all forms of learning.
