Yapp will lead the second of four conference tracks, 'Enabling Technologies'. In the session, Yapp will examine the greater learning environment to suggest that e-learning can transform the experience of education. By exploring the demands for an increasingly highly skilled workforce, he will look at how the UK's current educational infrastructure needs to be re-engineered in order to make it responsive to the needs of the economy, and have the learner at its centre. Yapp will examine not only the technological, but also the cultural changes this will require. He also, of course, will considers the potential pitfalls. Conference organiser, Mark Penton, said: "It's not about the technology, it's about the learner, we all know that, but how can the technology help? The Enabling Technologies track explores the detail of how learning and development systems and software can be implemented to assist learners and organisations in achieving their goals." In a change from previous years, the Learning Technologies 2005 conference will feature three session types, each lasting for one hour:
The Learning Technologies 2005 conference divides into four themes: Tomorrow's Trends; Effective Learning and Development; - Setting Strategy and Adding Value; and Enabling Technologies. Each theme consists of one plenary session, two main sessions and two master classes.
