PMI conference is Edinburgh bound

Project Management Institute (PMI) will hold its Global Congress 2005-EMEA in Edinburgh from 23rd to 25th May 2005.

"The EMEA Global Congress is a unique opportunity for project management practitioners from every sector to elevate their levels of knowledge, skills and expertise, and to network with colleagues from throughout the region," said PMI's CEO, Gregory Balestrero.

"Business executives in EMEA are investing billions of dollars in infrastructure and capacity increases and, based on our survey data, they have recognised the value of professional project management and are integrating it into their respective organisations as a core competency.

"This is evidenced, as well, by the growth of our membership and the increased number of practitioners seeking project management certification across Europe, the Middle East and Africa."

According to PMI, the Global Congress 2005-EMEA will focus on a number of specific learning areas including:

  • New trends in project management
  • Globalization and outsourcing
  • Project management maturity
  • Project management in EMEA
  • Project management in specific industries
  • Project management and leadership skills
  • Social and developmental projects
  • Education and certification

Sponsors of PMI Global Congress 2005-EMEA include Artemis International, BAE Systems, Deloitte, HP Services, IIL-Europe, Ltd. and allpm.com, and Microsoft.
