ASTD releases details of 2005 International Conference & EXPO

The American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) has announced details of its 2005 International Conference & Exposition.

ASTD 2005 will take place June 5-9 in the West Building of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA.

The event features three keynote speakers during the general sessions (Rudy Giuliani, Bob Knowling and Steve Uzzell), an EXPO showcasing products and services from the training supplier community, the “Legends” series, certificate programs, networking opportunities and educational sessions.

The educational sessions will be available in nine tracks:

  • Career planning and talent management
  • e-Learning
  • Leadership and management development
  • Learning as a business strategy
  • Measurement, evaluation, and ROI
  • Facilitating organisational change
  • Performance improvement
  • Personal and professional effectiveness
  • Designing and delivering learning

Featured session speakers include:

  • Michael Allen, chairman and CEO of Allen Interactions
  • Elaine Biech, president and managing principal of ebb associates inc.
  • John Maxwell, author, entrepreneur and speaker who will discuss the Five Levels of Leadership
  • Pat McLagan, author of Change is Everybody’s Business, as well as articles on change, leadership, and strategy implementation
  • Mette Norgaard, author of The Ugly Duckling Goes to Work: Wisdom for the Workplace from the Classic Tales of Hans Christian Andersen
  • Richard A. Zeif, the United Nations representative of the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO), and an international attorney and negotiator

During ASTD 2005, certificate programs will take place June 2-4, pre-conference workshops will take place June 3-4, the Conference is June 5-9, and the EXPO is June 6-8.
