Home > News > May 2005 > 03-May-2005 Project management on show at APM Group eventThe APM Group are running their third Best Practice Showcase for programme and project managers at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on 17th June 2005. The Best Practice Showcase features over 20 case study presentations including a keynote session by Hans N.J. Smits, President and CEO, Havenbedrijf Rotterdam N.V. (Port of Rotterdam). Mr Smit's keynote session: 'Managing Major Projects' will explore how PRINCE2 has been deployed in one of the largest infrastructure projects in the Netherlands. Peter Fanning, Deputy CEO, OGC, will discuss best practice achievements during his Showcase presentation. From the private sector, Chris Venning, Head of Change Governance, Barclays Bank will discuss how he has led the programme to deliver PRINCE2 and MSP into Group change governance at Barclays. Other private sector speakers include Graham Z Smith, Project Programme Consultant, Camelot, who will present a session entitled 'The seven deadly sins of project management'. The public sector is also well represented at event - The Environment Agency, Sedgemoor District Council, Birmingham City Council, Isle of Wight Council, Northumberland County Council, and Barts & The London NHS Trust are just a few of the organisations which will be sharing their experience of projects during the day. The Best Practice Showcase is free to attend for programme and project managers.
