Home > News > June 2005 > 06-Jun-2005 Public sector seminar focuses on virtual communitiesFuturemedia and Microsoft are hosting a seminar to discuss how technology-based strategies can deliver efficiency across the public sector. The seminar, 'Virtual Communities and Public Sector Effectiveness', will be held at Microsoft's offices in London on June 30th, 2005. Event Chairman Chris Yapp, Head of Public Sector Innovation at Microsoft, said, "In the wake of the Gershon Review, sponsored by the UK Treasury, organisations across the public sector are looking to technology to help deliver greater efficiencies in key areas. "This event looks at technology-based strategies for achieving this goal that go far beyond the mechanisation of routine administration tasks - in particular, the use of virtual communities to build capability, knowledge and awareness." Speakers at the event include Leonard M Fertig, CEO of Futuremedia plc; Angela O'Connor HR Director at the UK Crown Prosecution Service; and Paul Rudd, Director of Barclays Wealth Academy.
