Jamie Oliver shares leadership lessons

Chef Jamie Oliver is working with Video Arts to share lessons on leadership and change at an event aimed at managers, HR professionals and trainers.

At the event - which is being held in London on 8th July in support of the Fifteen Foundation - Jamie Oliver will discuss the lessons he has learned through his experience at restaurant Fifteen and his campaign to improve school dinners.

Commenting on Fifteen, Jamie Oliver said: "The biggest lesson I learnt was that each individual needs a different approach. Some learn quickly and others need a bit more time to grasp things. Some will take to one role happily while others might have to be given a little nudge. Spending time to nurture each trainee's talent is always important."

Other speakers at the event include Liza Wooderson, Director of Partners for Metro UK, who will talk about creating a 'people centred' approach to organisational change.

Martin Addison, Director of Video Arts, said: "Any boss knows that leadership and teamwork skills are key to their success. Their challenge is finding their own way of working and motivating their colleagues. Along the way, drawing on the inspiration and experience of others can be invaluable.

“This event offers that opportunity. Those attending can hear first-hand how inspirational leaders like Jamie Oliver were able to transform cultures and bring about real and lasting change in attitudes and business practices. People will also be able to discuss leadership issues and challenges directly with them.”

‘Leadership, Change and Turkey Twizzlers!’ takes place from 9am to 12.30pm at Sainsburys Business Centre, 33 Holborn Circus, London, EC1 on July 8th 2005.
