IDM to run Creative Academy at direct marketing event

The Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) is running its first Creative Academy at the DM Show on 25-26 October 2005. This autumn also sees the introduction of two new one-day training courses to the IDM’s portfolio: ‘Developing strong marketing propositions’ and ‘Writing for digital media’.

The IDM says the Creative Academy at the DM Show will feature case-study presentations that describe ten acclaimed creative campaigns - from initial concept, through the production process to launch and ensuing awards.

Speakers include Nick Platt and Barney Cockerell of WWAV; Proximity founder, Chris Barraclough; Steve Harrison of HTW and Darren Kay and Paul Tullo of Tullo Marshall Warren.

The IDM Creative Academy will be run concurrently with the IDM Academy at the Earl’s Court event. For more information visit: www.theidm.com/academy.

On 14 November, Marc Nohr, Managing Partner of Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, will tutor the new one-day course ‘Developing strong marketing propositions’. Then, on 1 December, Wunderman Interactive’s senior copywriter, Iain Harrison, delivers ‘Writing for digital media’. For a full description of both courses, visit www.theidm.com/training

IDM Programme Director, Joanna King said: "We’re delighted that so many heavy-weight creatives have agreed not only to allow us access to their work, but also to present the sessions themselves. These are enormously influential people whose first-hand experience is invaluable.

"We’re particularly excited about the launch of the Creative Academy which has been introduced in response to popular demand following the success of the IDM Academy, now in its fourth year."
