Jennings, who is scheduled to run one of the conference's four plenary sessions, said: "For an organisation to achieve its business objectives and thrive, it goes without saying that the right people with the right skills are an absolute necessity. However, even more than that, those people need to use their skills to perform as effectively as possible. Training for skills is no longer enough for the Training and L&D functions." "The Learning function in any organisations needs to focus on supporting optimum individual, team and business performance through getting its basic structure and processes right, adopting best of breed approaches for identifying the key performance problems that need to be solved to provide business benefit, and carefully deploying new technologies to support learning." Donald Taylor, Learning Technologies 2006 conference chair, said: "Charles Jennings is a highly experienced learning-industry leader and an inspirational speaker. Charles will inspire, provoke and challenge the conference to rethink how learning organisations support businesses."
