Acas says it is inviting employers along to a session that specifically covers the new right to request flexible working for those who have caring responsibilities. This will include a range of models for flexible working to help employers think through what could work best for them and for their staff. There are also changes for working parents with increased rights when taking maternity, adoption and paternity leave. Information on the changes and a guide to flexible working and work-life balance are available at www.acas.org.uk. Acas' regional director Bernard Style said: "Parents and carers have new rights so it is important for employers to understand what this means in practice to avoid any impact on the workplace and provide guidance as to how they might be managed effectively. Our good practice guidance gets to the heart of the issues and can make it easier to implement changes." The workshop takes place on 16th May at the Holiday Inn Rochester - Chatham from 11am to 12.30pm. Places cost £20 per person plus VAT. For further details contact Acas on 01892 837 273.
