Home > News > October 2007 > 16 October 2007 Cogent on show at Manufacturer LIVECogent the Sector Skills Council for the chemicals and pharmaceuticals, nuclear, oil and gas, petroleum industries will be on Stand 312 at The Manufacturer LIVE exhibition, taking place on 17-18 October 2007 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, Warwickshire. Cogent will be joined by Proskills UK, the Sector Skills Council for the building products, coatings, extractives, glass and paper manufacturing Industries. Cogent director of external affairs, Mervin Dadd said: "One of the key pillars of manufacturing is skills and productivity. Cogent's role is to make sure that both current employees and people coming into our manufacturing industries have the right skills to ensure a successful future for this hi-tech, science-using sector. "We will be demonstrating our flagship programmes at the exhibition and showing employers how they can get involved with us to boost skills and improve recruitment." During the event Cogent will be asking delegates to participate in its ongoing 'Oracle' research programme, an evidence gathering project which aims to find out how skills are progressing and spot future industry trends.
