Over 2000 attend e-learning event

The organisers of the Online Educa Berlin e-learning conference have announced that 2083 participants attended this year's event.

Participants from 91 countries gathered from December 3rd - 4th at Berlin's Hotel InterContinental to discuss developments in the fields of technology-supported learning and training.

High on this year's conference agenda were the challenges that 'Generation Y' poses to educators and trainers. Discussions focussed on what is happening in today's classrooms and how schools, universities and corporate trainers can adapt to the needs of a generation that grew up with the Internet.

Other core themes of the conference included open educational resources, innovative ways of content creation, the impact of Web 2.0 applications on learning, as well as mobile learning, the future of content management systems and game-based learning.

426 speakers from 44 countries took part in more than 340 presentations, workshops and seminars.

Online Educa Berlin was accompanied by an exhibition area with 116 exhibitors from 25 countries, showcasing e-learning products and services.

• Germany: 301
• United Kingdom: 248
• The Netherlands: 240
• Norway: 151
• Poland: 91
• Spain: 88
• Finland: 79
• Sweden: 76

The next Online Educa Berlin will take place from December 2nd - 4th, 2009 at the Hotel InterContinental in Berlin.
