Showing ROI is a top issue for UK training managers, says survey

70% of the UK training managers surveyed by Star Consulting think that showing return on investment (ROI) will be one of the most important training management issues that they face in 2004.

The same survey indicates that corporate training budgets will be slightly smaller in 2004 than they were in 2003.

Gaby Gardner, Managing Director of Star Consulting, said: "The UK's training managers are going to find themselves in the unenviable position of yet again having to make their budgets work even harder by getting more value for money from their expenditure."

"For UK companies to find greater efficiency and cost reductions we expect to see an increase in the adoption of managed training services and outsourcing and a whopping 27% of the managers we surveyed indicated that this indeed would be on the agenda in 2004."

Other findings from the survey showed that 'management and soft skills' training and 'induction and company-specific product training' will be the content areas receiving the greatest focus in 2004.
