British Heart Foundation to get Ashridge MBAid

Business school, Ashridge, has announced that the British Heart Foundation (BHF) will be benefiting from its MBAid initiative.

MBAid was launched in December 2003 to mark 15 years of the Ashridge MBA and to provide pro bono consultancy services to charities, non governmental and voluntary organisations. Two charities, the British Red Cross and Mediation UK are already involved in the initiative. Through the scheme, Ashridge alumni and some existing Ashridge participants work with organisations on key strategic, operational and business issues.

"We are delighted to announce that the British Heart Foundation will be taking part in the MBAid initiative," said Rob Peach, outgoing Chairman, Ashridge MBA Alumni Association. "MBAid has been very successful since its launch and the opportunity to help the British Heart Foundation is one we are all excited about."

Work with the BHF focuses on supporting the implementation of a new strategy to generate significantly more income for the Foundation. Two Ashridge teams will be involved in reviewing the administrative systems of the BHF's regional offices and the key performance indicators which are set to check that the charity's fundraising efforts are on track.

Aneesha Moreira, Director of Fundraising, British Heart Foundation said: "It's great to have input from Ashridge Alumni into key areas such as performance management and administrative systems. We're keen to enhance our efficiency in order to achieve the required outcome - to raise funds for research into heart disease."
