Former RHA Area Manager joins Skills for Logistics

Skills for Logistics, the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for the freight logistics industry has announced the appointment of Chris Fylan as Skills Development Manager for the North West, West Midlands and North Wales.

"Chris Fylan's comprehensive understanding of the logistics sector, combined with his knowledge of the industry's training issues and recruitment requirements, makes him the perfect choice for Skills for Logistics," commented David Orrell, Manager of Skills Development. "Chris has spent a successful ten years with the Road Haulage Association and we are looking forward to maximising the potential of his expertise."

Fylan is tasked with addressing the skills gaps, skills shortage and lack of training providers. Initially, his goal is to build a network of Approved Training Organisations across his region. Once this has been fully established, he intends to work with the logistics employers to effectively address their training and recruitment needs at all levels from drivers and warehouse staff through to senior managers and directors.
