"This was a celebration of our success", said Eden Brown Managing Director Ian Wolter. "We wanted to treat our team to the most energetic and motivating weekend possible. The only thing missing was the stuffy conference hall." Eden Brown made a decision against MD speeches and results analysis. Instead, the group were split into 23 teams and given maps, travel cards, cash and clues to landmark locations around Barcelona. At each of these they had to link up with senior personnel who tasked them with questions on the similarities between the location and the company before sending them off with another clue. The end result was 23 different slants on the company message. "Why go all the way to Barcelona to spend the day sitting in a room watching power-point?", said Wolter. "Retention level on speeches is very low - if these sort of trips are going to work you need to build your team by creating new understanding."
