Knowledgepool launches new web-based training administration system

Learning services company KnowledgePool has launched a web-based training administration system designed to simplify the whole process of managing internal and external training.

Called Livebooker, the system is an optional component of KnowledgePool’s outsourcing service.

KnowledgePool creates a searchable online catalogue of internal and external courses from a client’s preferred training providers. This shows employees the specification, dates and locations for each course. The system also displays an ‘evaluation rating’ given by other delegates for the course.

Employees can either select or be invited onto courses and the system manages the approval and purchasing processes. It sends delegates joining instructions and reminders automatically.

"Livebooker vastly reduces the time and cost of training administration," said Rod Edwards, Chief Executive of KnowledgePool. "It greatly simplifies the process of selecting and buying training, for delegates and for the training department. As a central source of management intelligence on all training activities, it can also provide supplier and trainer comparisons. This can help organisations improve the return on their training spend, as they benefit from our improved discounts and terms with end suppliers."

According to KnowledgePool, Livebooker can transfer training data to the client’s HR system and it can run detailed management reports - giving total visibility of training usage and spend - on issues such as course attendance and supplier/trainer performance.

For clients using the system, KnowledgePool consolidates all the payment requests from every training supplier into a single monthly invoice. The system features helpdesk support and is available on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Livebooker is currently being used as part of a blended learning programme - involving 300 instructor-led seminars, bespoke elearning and live coaching - which KnowledgePool is managing at the Home Office, to help 15,000 civil servants upgrade to Windows XP and Office XP from older versions of the software.
