Home > News > December 2004 > 14-Dec-2004 Asset Skills official launchNewly licensed Sector Skills Council Asset Skills are hosting an event to announce its official launch, and to outline its strategy and progress to date. The event takes place on Tuesday 11 January 2005, at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in Westminster, and will feature an address from the Rt. Hon. Charles Clarke, Secretary of State for Education and Skills, who will formally endorse Asset Skills as the Sector Skills Council covering the property services, housing, cleaning services and facilities management sectors. Asset Skills aim to work in partnership with employers, their representative bodies and education and training providers, to identify and deliver the right skills to meet the future demands on the sector. The property services, housing, cleaning services and facilities management sectors together account for 7 per cent of GDP and are made up of 1.4m employees in over 100,000 organisations.
