"Becoming a member of the CompTIA Project+ advisory committee will give CIGNA an opportunity to interact with a wide range of organisations that are involved in project management and provide us with an informal benchmarking opportunity," said Mark Petruzzi, director of Technology Training, CIGNA. "We hope to gain fresh insights into common project management problems, solutions to those problems, and best overall practices. We will also be more closely tied into the key issue of career development and certification for mid-level project managers." The CompTIA Project+ advisory committee is responsible for guiding the development of the Project+ certification and is made up of training companies, courseware providers, and organisations with extensive project management engagements. Project+ is an international certificate aimed at mid-level project managers - those with more than 2,000 hours of experience. For the last 18 months, CIGNA has been implementing a unified project management methodology designed to improve the organisation's return on investment in information technology and business process improvement related projects. A key component of this effort has been a focus on career development for CIGNA's more than 250 project managers.
