The aim of the pilot is to provide more networking opportunities for members at a local level, whilst helping the Association to be more involved in issues and developments at a regional level. Alun Harvey has been appointed regional co-ordinator for the South Eastern region pilot while Sarah Wills will co-ordinate activities in the South West region. "Having been a member of BAOL (and now the BLA) for more than ten years, I'm delighted to pilot the Regional Co-ordinator role in the South East," said Alun Harvey, managing partner of Open Mind. "I've gained a lot from the Association through conferences, meetings and the regular newsletters, and I hope that I can now help to raise the profile of the BLA and its members throughout the South East region." Jack Wills, BLA Director added; "Not only will this help to raise the profile of the Association in the regions, it will also bring the BLA closer to its members. This is an exiting initiative that can only be good news for everyone involved!" The regional co-ordinators will be involved in a range of activities including organising networking meetings, identifying new learning initiatives in the area and forming links with appropriate regional bodies.
