Financial advisers opt for 'electronic flipcharts'

Business, financial and tax advisers Grant Thornton UK are employing Promethean AV Distribution's interactive panel to provide electronic flipchart functionality in conference settings.

"We wanted to maintain a professional format to our presentations for a large group yet incorporate and encourage audience participation," said David Margerison, a Client Service Director at Grant Thornton. "The panel's electronic flipchart device conveys important messages in a highly visual way, engaging the audience and ultimately creating productive conferences."

By connecting the interactive panel to a PC and data projector, the image from the PC appears on the panel's display and is simultaneously displayed on a projection screen behind the presenter. The panel uses Promethean's Px software to enable users to annotate, highlight and otherwise manipulate original material directly on the display using a wireless pen. According to Promethean, this 'hand-eye' co-ordinated interface between the user and PC allows the presentation to be delivered without having to turn away from the audience.

Grant Thornton is also considering introducing the use of Promethean interactive equipment at its Bradenham Manor training centre.
