The online survey of 966 people also found that 39% receive formal training in their current job. Of those respondents, 50% said the training is sufficient, 38% said the training is insufficient and 3% said they received too much training. Of the 58% of respondents that don’t receive formal training in their current job, 67% said that lack of training could be a reason to change jobs. Greg Teare, Operations Director at Manpower, said: "It’s great news that employees expect formal training. This indicates that people are becoming increasingly concerned with career-development. The UK currently has a large skills shortage, and work-based training is key to addressing this."
