Home > News > August 2005 > 02-Aug-2005 Skills for Logistics to host employer conferenceSkills for Logistics, the Sector Skills Council serving the freight logistics industry, is hosting an employer conference on 4 October at Belvoir Castle, Grantham, Leicestershire. The schedule for the conference will include a series of speeches, debates, and Q&A sessions involving industry figures, academics and Trade Associations. The keynote speech will be delivered by John Allan CBE, Chief Executive of Exel. Ian Hetherington, Chief Executive of Skills for Logistics, said: "We anticipate the event to be extremely thought-provoking, encouraging dialogues with industry on topics such as the role of skills in improving competitiveness and productivity, skills development - who should pay for it?, and current industry issues. "Lively debates will occur and we look forward to challenging people's perceptions and the opportunity for instant feedback on some of the key issues facing the logistics industry today."
