LSC appoints new Finance Director

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has announced the appointment of Richard Healey as its new Finance Director.

Healey leads the Finance division and is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of financial processes and policies throughout the LSC. Last year the LSC's budget was £8.8 billion of which £4.8 billion was spent on young people and £2.9 billion on adults.

Speaking about his new appointment, Healey said: "I am delighted to be appointed as the Director of Finance for the LSC. Building on the work done in the last four years I intend to continue both improving systems and delivering the finance services that our customers request."

Prior to his appointment as Finance Director, Healey spent the last three years at the LSC as Director of Financial Innovation. Before joining the LSC, Healey worked at the Export Credits Guarantee Department.

Healey previous positions include South Wales Electricity, and Gwent College of Higher Education. He replaces Philip Lloyd who left the LSC in January 2005.
